Description | Former cabinet minister and Quebec MP Stephane Dion has come from behind to win the leadership of the Liberal Party on the fourth ballot.
"I'm so happy and proud of my party. I'm so pleased to serve my party," he told reporters immediately after the results were announced Saturday at the Palais de congres in Montreal.
The fourth-ballot results were 57.4 per cent support for Dion (2,541 votes). Michael Ignatieff, the academic and rookie MP who led through the first two ballots, captured 2,084 votes. |
