Three Prince William County Republicans are planning a political fundraiser two days before the second anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks that will feature a homeland security chat by former governor James S. Gilmore III (R) and will reward major donors with lapel pins honoring the Pentagon casualties.
Democrats criticized the Sept. 9 fundraiser as an insult to the memory of the Sept. 11 victims, including the 20 Prince William residents who died at the Pentagon. The GOP candidates said the event was timely and scheduled for that night to accommodate fundraising and other campaign needs before the Nov. 4 elections. |
