Description | Democrat Judy Feder, a former adviser to President Bill Clinton on health care policy, picked no small challenge to launch her political career this year. She is running for the House in Virginia’s Republican-leaning 10th Congressional District, and is seeking to upset a 13-term incumbent in Republican Rep. Frank R. Wolf, a long-popular fixture in the rapidly populating outer suburbs and exurbs of Washington, D.C.
But an increasingly toxic political atmosphere for Republicans in general — combined with changing demographics in Northern Virginia that have produced some recent Democratic successes in local elections — have invigorated Feder’s longshot campaign. CQPolitics.com has changed its rating on the race to Republican Favored from Safe Republican. |
