Description | Starting with Walter Mondale -- a k a Fritz. Over the years he has served as attorney general of Minnesota, a U.S. senator, vice president of the United States and an ambassador, among other duties.
Now, he's a fashion icon.
Yes, a fashion icon alongside Cary Grant, Fred Astaire and George Clooney.
Read about it in the September Vanity Fair. Among the chic men named to the magazine's best-dressed list is NBC news anchor Brian Williams. And on Williams' list under "style icon" is the name Walter Mondale.
So I asked Fritz: How come?
"It must have been a typo," he said. "No," I said, "it's the real deal. Do you know Brian Williams?"
Mondale said that he has met him but that he doesn't know him.
"You know I once made a third best-dressed list and Hubert Humphrey said to me, 'Fritz, I no longer believe in anything.' "
Ah, well. |
