DescriptionBOSTON (AP) -- A bill that would make Massachusetts the first state to require that all of its citizens have some form of health insurance is on Gov. Mitt Romney's desk awaiting his signature.

Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom said late Tuesday that Romney, a potential Republican candidate for president in 2008, will sign the bill next week.

Lawmakers overwhelmingly approved the bill Tuesday. The plan -- hailed as a national model -- would dramatically expand access to health care over the next three years.
