Description | It was a night of announcements from big-name politicians at the Charleston County GOP convention Thursday night.
Candidates for every statewide political office, from agriculture commissioner to governor, stumped for support. And all were upstaged by the announcements by two candidates for Charleston County School Board and County Council.
The school board contender is Arthur Ravenel Jr., the former congressman and state senator for whom the new Cooper River bridge is named. ...
Speaking three hours into the marathon convention, Huckabee took his stature in stride.
He said he witnessed political history when "two governors and an attorney general are overshadowed by a guy running for school board." |
