Description | Refusing to concede the mayoral race more than a month after the election, William Stephens yesterday filed a challenge to the results and cited "irregularities" in the process.
Jun Choi, the first-time candidate who claimed victory after initial tallies put him more than 250 votes ahead of Stephens, said the challenge will not affect his plans to begin governing.
"We need to focus on doing the people's work, and that's what we're doing," he said. "I'll let my attorneys worry about the details of the election challenge. But we'll move forward." |
