Description | A spokesman for U.S. Rep. Jim Gerlach (R., Pa.) conceded yesterday that Gerlach had overstated his campaign receipts for this year by $2.2 million.
Campbell said that a campaign staffer compiling the data typed in a wrong date, causing the accounting software to include receipts from Gerlach's 2004 campaign in FEC filings for this year.
According to the quarterly reports originally filed with the FEC, Gerlach received a total of $1.1 million in actual contributions this year but listed a cumulative total of $3.3 million. |
