DescriptionAs Assemblyman Johan Klehs, D-San Leandro, prepares his bid for the state Senate next June, he can count on the support of at least two Barbaras — U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer and U.S. Rep. Barbara Lee.
Klehs announced Wednesday that both Boxer and Lee are endorsing him for the Senate's 10th District seat, currently held by Sen. Liz Figueroa, D-Fremont. Term limits prohibit Figueroa from running again.

So far, Klehs will be facing off against two Democratic heavyweights — Assemblyman John Dutra, D-Fremont, and former Assemblywoman and ex-San Leandro Mayor Ellen Corbett.

Just two months ago, Boxer endorsed Corbett for the same seat. She still does, only now the endorsement is of the fairly rare shared variety.
