Description | It may take "selling candy bars," but members of a movement to recall the City Council say they will raise enough money to pay the cost of required newspaper notices for their campaign.
On Friday, the pro-recall group missed a mandatory deadline to provide the city with proof they had run advertisements about the recall in the Santa Maria Times, the official newspaper of record for the community.
Members of Recall Our City Council (ROCC) say they cannot afford the estimated $1,928 cost of running five political advertisements, one for each person they want to recall.
