Description | "It's going to come back and bite them in the rear," one highly placed Democrat in Washington, D.C., said to me recently.
The "it" in that caustic comment is the Republican gerrymandering of Pennsylvania's 19 congressional districts, a process by which the GOP sought to guarantee the election of Republicans to the U.S. House of Representatives this November.
Both state and national Democrats now believe that the GOP overplayed their desire to create favorable districts for their own, and that Democrats actually have a much better shot at winning congressional seats than earlier expected. |
