Description | Indiana's time zone map, as self-proposed by each county in the state, is a mess.
Hey, the U.S. Department of Transportation asked for it. What did the federal time zone setters and Gov. Mitch Daniels think they'd see? . . .
Instead of statewide hearings on the matter -- something that should have been done when the legislature debated daylight-saving time -- the Department of Transportation essentially said: Give us a holler if you want to change from Eastern to Central, and then we'll think about it . . .
We'd be right back where we started before daylight-saving time was approved. Only this time, instead of the rest of the world asking Hoosiers, "What time is it there now?", Hoosiers would be asking Hoosiers. |
