Description | Canada will provide the United States with a large reserve of basic medical supplies to help the flood-ravaged Deep South cope with the disaster wrought by hurricane Katrina.
The promise of supplies comes three days after Prime Minister Paul Martin pledged in a telephone conversation with President George W. Bush to supply as much aid as possible to Canada's stricken southern neighbour, and eight months after Ottawa was roundly criticized for a late response to the tsunami disaster. |
