Description | Southern Baptists at their annual meeting in Nashville are being challenged to offer gays and lesbians "the love, the grace, the forgiveness and the healing of God."
The Reverend Richard Land, who heads the denomination's public policy arm, says homosexuality isn't a choice, but rather "a symptom of deeper influences" that Jesus Christ can heal.
Land says Baptists and other traditional believers remain strongly opposed to same-sex marriage, but he urged his audience to "pray that God will give Southern Baptists a greater love and burden for homosexuals," who often feel hated and rejected by Christians. |
