DescriptionDavid Rebovich, a political science professor at Rider University, may be the most widely-quoted observer of New Jersey politics ever. Certainly he's owned that title for the last decade.

So as a scorching hot primary day heads into its final hours, who better to put a punctuation mark on the end of the run-on sentence that has been this year's Republican gubernatorial race?

"The question," said Rebovich, who was reached by phone as he prepared for his role as a television commentator tonight, "is have Forrester supporters come off the golf course, and if they have, will they head to the polls and vote?"

"There really are two questions that we've known for a while," hen continued. "One is whether New Jersey's more moderate Republicansn felt passionate enough about today's primary to show up. If they do, that would be good for Forrester. Or would Schundler's flourish these last few days result in just enough turnout for him to pull this out?"

Rebovich said he'd love to make a prediction but couldn't. Given the clashing polling data of the last two days it seems only fitting that he has more questions than answers.
