Description | "Republican Janklow Honors Democrat Daschle at Dinner"
At the dinner, Daschle listened to remarks from former Sen. George McGovern, USD President Jim Abbott; Ruth Ziolkowski, president of the Crazy Horse Foundation; former Gov. and Rep. Bill Janklow; and USA Today founder Neuharth. Then he quoted Irish poet William Butler Yeats.
VERMILLION - Former Sen. Tom Daschle's speech at the University of South Dakota on Tuesday afternoon, his first public appearance in the region since losing re-election, was by turns a meditation on a 26-year career in public service and a statement of core principles of someone running for office.
