DescriptionOn June 6 Broomfield Mayor Karen Stuart and Councilmember Hank Stovall presented Governor Bill Owens with a plaque thanking the Governor for his creation of the Governor’s Task Force which assisted Broomfield in the transition to Colorado’s 64th County on November 15, 2001. The Task Force, comprised of key state officials, was set into motion nearly 2 years prior to the transition date and dealt with thorny issues ranging from Human Services funding to conversions to the proper computer code numbers in the various data bases of the State. Without the support of the Governor the transition to Broomfield City and County would have become much more difficult. In presenting the special plaque Mayor Stuart and Councilmember Stovall conveyed the thanks of the full Council and the entire community.
