Description | MONTGOMERY - For the last 20 years, the Alabama Republican Party has made inroads into the Democratic political countryside.
Will a competitive Republican primary between former Chief Justice Roy Moore and Gov. Bob Riley divide the party?
"(Moore's) supporters say he's good for the party for the turnout," said David Lanoue, a politics professor at the University of Alabama. "(His opponents) say he's bad for the party because he's a polarizing figure."
