Description | The Tennessee Republican Party wants to know whether state Sen. John Ford, D-Memphis, is a legal resident of his Senate district.
State GOP chairman Bob Davis wrote the state attorney general Tuesday asking about "the appropriate steps to have this matter investigated to determine if Senator Ford is in compliance with" state law.
Davis cited news reports of a deposition Ford gave in a Juvenile Court case in which he said he lives at two homes, neither of which is in Senate District 29 that he has represented since 1975.
