Description | Minnesota's State Fair is a "must" stop for any statewide political candidate.
And at this year's fair – which ran during the 10 days leading up to Labor Day – third-party gubernatorial candidate Timothy J. Penny's campaign booth was a must for many attendees.
"You were the first Democrat I ever voted for," one man in a farming cap and suspenders told Penny, who served in the U.S. House as a Democrat from 1983 to 1995 but switched to Minnesota's Independence Party when he announced his bid for governor in June.
"Well, I'm an independent now," Penny replied, signing an autograph. "What do you think about that?" |
