Description | Career counselors at local colleges have noticed a marked increase in the number of companies actively recruiting soon-to-be-graduates. The University of Pittsburgh, for example, has seen on-campus visits by companies surge 33 percent this fall over last year.
"It seems apparent that this year's graduates are going to have more opportunities than last year's," said Marvin Roth, Pitt's director of Career Services.
Nationally, college hiring is expected to increase 13 percent over last year, according to a new survey from National Association of Colleges and Employers. And seven out of 10 employers said they expect to increase salary offers in order to lure the new graduates. |
