| Description | CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The race for the 2006 GOP nomination for the Senate firmed up Thursday with U.S. Rep Zach Wamp saying he won't run and Mayor Bob Corker moving ahead with fund raising.
The seat is currently held by Sen. Bill Frist, but the Senate majority leader said during earlier campaigns that he didn't plan on serving more than two terms and he is being mentioned as a contender for president in 2008.
