Description | Al Gore is running for president Wednesday. In a sense, he's running for re-election.
But, if he wins, Gore's term will not be marked by Supreme Court battles over vote counting or debates about the environment or Social Security. Right now, he's more concerned with the theme of the sophomore dance.
This Gore is Alexander, 16, sophomore class president at Shaler Area High School and candidate for junior class president.
Gore said his name has long incited wisecracks, but the 2000 presidential election featuring then-Vice President Albert Gore Jr. marked a high point in jokes by his classmates. |
