Description | "Republican challenger Mary Connaughton has accused a gay-marriage advocacy group that backs her Democratic opponent of plotting to lash out at her soon with a round of "vicious personal attacks."
Heating up the campaign rhetoric in the race for the 7th Middlesex District state representative seat that includes Framingham and Ashland, Connaughton took a jab at Democrat Tom Sannicandro's support from Boston-based MassEquality. The gay rights organization, she said, is polling for Sannicandro and pushing to get him elected.
With less than a month before the November election, Connaughton's campaign fears the group will unleash "a sleazy personal attack campaign" against her like it did to Sannicandro's Democratic primary opponent Ginger Esty."
