| Description | Between now and Election Day, Nov. 2, South Carolinians can expect to be bombarded with TV ads urging them to vote no in the referendum to remove the minibottle mandate from the S.C. Constitution. The ads likely will warn darkly that removal of the mandate would impel restaurants and taverns to water down customers' drinks and create tax-collection problems for the state.
South Carolinians should ignore such warnings. A yes vote on the minibottle referendum would bring a wide array of benefits that outweigh any disadvantages by far. |
