Description | LONDON, Ont. -- The man expected to become leader of Ontario's Progressive Conservative party isn't taking anything for granted. With 10 days to go until party members elect a successor to Ernie Eves in Toronto, John Tory is criss-crossing the province encouraging the 60,000 party members eligible to vote for a new leader to do just that -- vote.
Tory said in London yesterday it's important to get beyond the 40-per-cent turnout such events usually attract if the party is to rebuild and take the reins of government.
He'd prefer they vote for him -- rather than rivals Jim Flaherty or Frank Klees -- but the important thing is to get involved, he said. |
