Description | A bitterly fought Republican race for 8th District congressman appeared to be the biggest attraction of Tuesday's runoff elections.
Turnout was generally light across the state, except in parts of Coweta, Fayette and Muscogee counties that are in the 8th District, election officials reported about 5 p.m.
In Muscogee, which was under a flash-flood warning, the highest turnout was in 16 precincts where Republicans Dylan Glenn and state Rep. Lynn Westmoreland battled to be the Republican nominee to succeed retiring U.S. Rep. Mac Collins, officials said. |
