The race for Southwest Florida’s congressional seat is the first to get seriously nasty, with the continuing attacks against Rep. Carole Green by an opponent, Connie Mack IV.

After 10 years of public service in Southwest Florida, Green isn’t worried by the accusations thrown by Mack, who moved here in October from Fort Lauderdale to run.

Green also has support from another key player: retiring U.S. Rep. Porter Goss’ wife, Mariel Goss. She donated $1,000 to Green’s campaign.

And now Green has renewed support from other lawmakers.
