|Description||Gov. Tim Pawlenty today wiped out the stateís budget deficit by using federal funds, delaying state construction projects and increasing tax compliance efforts. Last week, the governor eliminated 60 percent of the stateís $160 million projected deficit. Today, with executive directives, he single-handedly got rid of the rest. |
"Senate Democrats have said their caucus didnít need anything from this legislative session, but the people of Minnesota deserve something. Itís called leadership," Pawlenty said in a statement. "That leadership starts with a balanced budget, which is what Iíve done today."
