Description(Columbia) - Apparently, leading national Democrats have now officially given up hope of winning the South this November. The Governor of New Mexico and Chairman for the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston, Bill Richardson, believes it is not “realistic” for Democrats to win the South.

Chairman of the South Carolina Bush campaign and Speaker of the South Carolina House of Representatives, David Wilkins responded, “South Carolina Democrats should get used to this kind of treatment from leaders of their Party. John Kerry has already said he plans to “win” the White House without winning one southern state. That strategy has never worked and it never will.”
