Hormel Foods Corp. plans to raise prices on Spam and hundreds of other packaged food items by 4.5 percent to 6.5 percent because of rising commodity prices and other costs, a spokeswoman said Monday night. Besides higher prices for commodities such as pork and beef, Craven said, Hormel was also trying to offset higher costs for transportation, packaging and medical benefits. |
