Description"Thomas J. Shusted, 77, Camden County's first full-time prosecutor, died Wednesday.

He was active in politics and community affairs for much of his life, said his son, Thomas J. Jr., who shared his father's law office for more than 20 years.

Before being named to the prosecutor's spot in 1972, Mr. Shusted was a Camden County freeholder, serving as the freeholder-director from 1966 to 1968, and served in the state Assembly from the 6th District for 14 years.

As an assemblyman he was chairman of the state's Judiciary Committee."
