Share your news and views about gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender issues from both sides of the debate.

"Straight Americans need an education of the heart and soul. They must understand, to begin with, how it can feel to spend years denying your own deepest truths, to sit silently through classes, meals, and church services while people you love toss off remarks that brutalize your soul." Bruce Bawer

"Each one of them is Jesus in a distressing disguise." Mother Teresa

"You could move." Abigail Van Buren of "Dear Abby" in response to a reader who complained that a gay couple was moving in across the street and wanted to know what he could do to improve the quality of the neighborhood

What difference does my sexual preference make? I am attracted to women and have been to a long time, but I am and have been in a monogamous relationship with a wonderful woman for years now. But what difference does that make?

Lol... no, she didn't really discuss what she does in bed. If that were true we'd know "what goes where". Saying "we have sex" kind of goes with the territory (one hopes) for "we're a couple" - it's part and parcel, but it's only part... yet it seems some folks, particularly the not-gay ones, seem to focus on that aspect of the relationship exclusively. Boggles the mind!

There should be no discussion on gay marrage. It is unbiblical, "One nation under god..."

Oy gevalt, Ryan...

(Ryan is a friend of mine from High School. We argue about this all the time. Now, it seems he has found this site)

Okay, we'll all shut up about it now.

Thank goodness we are not a Theocracy. And the "Under God" part was added to the pledge in the mid-1950's - it certainly wasn't the Founding Fathers' intent to form a Theocracy either.

Mod, Eddie, you're both smartasses. Keep it up.

McAdam is making the point for the folk who want to take God out of the Pledge and off our currency. All y'all GOPers ought to rein him him some. Unless he simply forgot to hit the sarcasm key and I'm taking him at his word :)

Why Graney, I'm surprised. When I was a member of the GOP and made noises that were also critical of the GOP, I was told by GOPers to shut up or leave the party. My word, suddenly is the GOP is the very image of acceptance and free speech... oh wait, only when it supports gay bashing and a theocratic state. My bad.

If marraige is a civil institution, then any two people who are competent to enter into a contract should be given the right to marry. Any law that discriminates is unconstitutional under the equal protection clause. If it is a religious institution, government should not be regulating or sanctioning the practice, and should not extend to them benefits it does not provide to all it's citizens.

Why are you limiting it to two people? Your two-person limitation is as arbitrary as limiting it to a man and a woman.

Oh, Muck, we're going to get into this AGAIN? "since we're going to defy MY definition of marriage, IT'S JUST OPEN SEASON! LET'S MARRY OUR DOGS!"

Give me a break. I'm so tired of living under YOUR yolk, forced to live under what people like YOU declare make them comfortable. Well guess what. You don't get to decide who gets my social security benefits. You don't get to arbitrarily ask me to pay thousands of dollars a year in additional taxes. You don't get to call me half a person. Just so you can sleep well at night? Tell you what. You pay me the $2000 annually I pay in additional property taxes because my house was reassessed when I went on deed (which would not have happened if we'd been able to get married) and I promise that as long as that check keeps coming in, me and my partner will stay out of your neighborhood.

Or do you need us to leave the country? Nah, you can build concentration camps right here and just round us all up so you can better keep an eye on us.

WHY DON'T YOU JUST KEEP YOUR NOSE OUT OF GAY PEOPLE'S LIVES.

Given recent revelations on the website I think a quick anonymous survey is in order. I know we say half the website is gay, but lets put it to a test. People can also admit it here without having other people know.

What term best describes your sexual preference?

Homosexual 15 (35.71%)
