What is the policy on adding non-political "races"?
FAQ DETAILS
Parent About Website
Answer It is my understanding that OC is a political/elections site. However, I have noticed there are decidedly non-political items such as NASCAR and reality television related information and races. Can I enter similar non-political items that fit my particular interests such as beauty pageants, dog shows, and "bake-offs"?

OurCampaigns.com is most certainly a site dedicated to the discussion of political events and the accumulation of contemporary and historical election information. There are, however, "silly" races that primarily consist of elections between site members, which members can choose participate in or not.

However, some site members have deemed it appropriate to add non-political, non-OC specific races (such as the aforementioned NASCAR and reality-tv). While there may not be a current site policy relating specifically to such non-political items, it is safe to say that those who have entered them in the past have taken advantage of the leniency of OC's self-regulating nature.

Perhaps in the past members have thought it wise to add non-political races, but it remains possible that such races might be removed at some point in the future. Regardless, OC is not a site dedicated to such non-political races and the addition of such races is not a practice that will either be approved of by the vast majority of members or serve to better fulfill the purpose of OurCampaigns.
