Description |
The riding, which takes in the NE part of Burnaby, runs from Burrard Inlet in the north to Trans-Canada Highway/Lakefield Drive/4th Street/10th Avenue in the south; from North Road in the east to Sperling Avenue and Kensington Avenue in the west.
The riding includes Burnaby Lake in the south and Burnaby Mountain Park and Simon Fraser University in the north.
In the 2006 census, the immigrant population was 46%. The visible minority population was 50% - 26% Chinese; 8% South Asian.
The riding was created in the 2008 redistribution from: 58% Burquitlam; 17% Burnaby-Edmonds; 14% Burnaby North.
