Description Auburn was the first City in Maine - the second in New England - to adopt the Council-Manager form of government. Our municipal government is comprised of the Mayor and seven City Councilors. Five councilors are elected, one from each ward, by and from the ward's registered voters; and two councilors are elected at-large by and from the registered voters of the City. The Mayor is also elected by a majority of voters city-wide. Both the Mayor and Councilors serve a two-year terms.

Meetings are typically held on the first and third Mondays of every month, 7:00PM, 60 Court Street in Auburn.
