| Description |
Lethbridge-West comprises the west half of the city of Lethbridge. The municipal boundaries form the north and west borders of the riding, while the south border is the Oldman River. To the east, the riding is divided from Lethbridge-East mostly by 13th Street. In 2004 redistribution, voters living between 13th Street in the west, Mayor Magrath Drive in the east, 10th Avenue in the south, and the CPR line in the north were shifted to Lethbridge-East.
Retail provides the most jobs in Lethbridge-West, followed by health and social services. At $52,729, household incomes are well below the provincial average, and more than 11 per cent of residents are considered low income. Immigrants comprise just over 10 per cent of the population, while more than 62 per cent were born in Alberta.
