| Description |
This southwest Edmonton riding is bordered on the south by the city limits, on the west by the North Saskatchewan River, and on the north and east mostly by Whitemud Creek, Blackmud Creek and the CNR line. In the 2004 redistribution the riding lost small eastern and northern areas to Edmonton-Rutherford and Edmonton-Riverview.
This is Edmonton's wealthiest riding, with an average household income of $111,369, Alberta's second highest, and home values running about $230,000. Fewer than six per cent of residents are considered low income. College and university degrees are held by 74 per cent of the adult population, making this the province's second-best-educated riding. About one in four people here is an immigrant, and more than 11 per cent are of Chinese origin. Just over 52 per cent were born in Alberta.
