Description This central Edmonton riding is bordered on the south by the North Saskatchewan River, on the west by 124th and 112th Streets, on the north by 111th Avenue, and on the east by 97th Street. The riding gained a small piece from Edmonton-Highlands in the 2004 redistribution.

Alberta's poorest riding, Edmonton-Centre has an average household income of $37,980 and 24.4 per cent of residents are considered low income. Almost one in four people here is an immigrant, while 44 per cent of residents were born in Alberta. Aboriginals make up seven per cent of the population. Health care and social services, followed by the accommodation and food-services sectors, provide the most jobs.
