| Description |
Fowler was created with the expansion of the parliament in 1984 and is named after Lillian Fowler, member of the NSW Parliament 1944-50 and Mayor of Newtown Municipality 1938-39, the first woman to be elected Mayor of an Australian local council. She was an Alderman on the council from 1929 until it was absorbed into Sydney City Council in 1948.
