The National Assembly of the Republic of China is a nonstanding parliamentary body and is only called into session as needed for in consideration of constitutional referenda and crisis management. The National Assembly consists of 300 seats. Delegates to the National Assembly are nominated by parties and elected by proportional representation within three months of a Legislative Yuan call to amend the Constitution, impeach the president, or change national borders.
