Description |
Known as the Landesverweser (Provincial administrator) from April 1861 and renamed the Regierungschef (Head of Government) beginning on March 2, 1921. "Prime Minister" is the title given by English speakers. The Prime Minister serves a 4-year term once elected by majority vote by members of the Landtag of Liechtenstein (Liechtensteinischer Landtag) or Parliament. The selection is formalized by appointment of the Prince Regnant of Liechtenstein at a swearing-in ceremony held at the Vaduz Castle.
