Riding profile
This is a new riding on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River in the Chaudière-Appalaches region, and sits southwest of Quebec City. It includes Thetford Mines, Adstock, East Broughton, Saint-Apollinaire, Saint-Agapit, Sainte-Croix, Saint-Joseph-de-Coleraine and many other smaller communities.
The riding is a merger of most of the old ridings of Frontenac and Lotbinière.
Political history
Lotbinière was Action Démocratique du Québec country in the previous three elections. With the folding of the ADQ into the Coalition Avenir Québec, this is now one of the CAQ's nine ridings in the legislature. Frontenac has voted Liberal since 1985, with the exception of 1994, when it went to the PQ.
