Info | Nancy Lynn was born June 3, 1958, in Lynwood, California. The second child of five born to the Myers family, Nancy was the only daughter. In 1964, her family moved to a small farm in Nampa, Idaho, where she learned the values of working hard, being a good neighbor, and staying true to her word.
After attending Boise State College on a scholarship for a semester while working at North American Plant Breeders, Nancy married David McLaughlin on June 17, 1978. That same year, they moved to the Northwest district of Spokane and purchased the house where they still live today.
In April 1980, the McLaughlins welcomed their first son, Troy. Later that year, Nancy and David founded D-MAC Construction, a business specializing in kitchen and bathroom remodels. In order to supplement the family business, Nancy took a full-time position at Farm Credit Banks from February 1981 until May 1982, when Tim was born. At that time, in order to devote herself more fully to their children, Nancy determined not to seek employment outside the home. She continues to run the day-to-day administration operations of D-MAC Construction.
With her tireless energy and dedication, both the family and business flourished. Yet, the McLaughlins understood that to ensure quality of life for their children, they'd need to broaden their focus beyond providing for their immediate needs. Soon after the birth of their last child and only daughter, Trinity, they determined to commit themselves to the betterment of their community.
In 1986, Nancy became both a block watch captain and volunteer in the school her children attended. When gang activity threatened her peaceful neighborhood, in 1995 Nancy took action by co-founding the North Hill Neighborhood Observation Patrol. From 1993 through 1997 she served on District 81's Citizens Advisory Committee as both secretary and chair. Currently, she's an active member of Spokane County Domestic Violence Consortium.
Both David and Nancy are active members of Rock of Ages Christian Fellowship, where Nancy served as a Church Board Member for several years. At the present time, she continues to serve on the Women's Ministry Committee.
When relaxing, David and Nancy enjoy socializing with friends over pizza and pinochle. Nancy whole-heartedly believes that every day goes better with a little chocolate, a lot of love, plenty of laughter, and a cat named Max.
