InfoS. Samantha “Sam” Shaw will seek the Republican nomination for the position of State Auditor in 2006.

Born and raised in Homewood , she attended Homewood High School . Same received her first degree from Auburn in 1979, earning a B.S. in Family and child Development. Sam also received her degree in Business Administration with an accounting major from Auburn/Montgomery.

Sam is the past chairman of the Montgomery County Republican Executive Committee and currently sits on the State Executive Committee. She is a member of various organizations including the Capital City Republican Women, the Alabama Federation of Republican Women and the Camellia Club. In 2002, Sam served as Deputy Finance Director for Senator Jeff Sessions’ campaign.

While at Auburn, Sam met Greg Shaw and they were married in 1980. They have two sons, Gregory who is a Cadet at the United States Military Academy at West Point and Christopher, a sophomore at Georgia Tech. Sam and Greg have lived in Montgomery for over 20 years and are members of Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church .
