Rep. David Oetting, a Republican, represents Lafayette County (District 122) in the Missouri House of Representatives.

First elected to the House in a special election in 1989, Rep. Oetting serves on the following House committees: Banks and Financial Institutions; Insurance; Retirement; Social Services, Medicaid, and the Elderly; and Workers Compensation and Employment Security. He is also a member of the Joint Committee on Health Policy and Planning as well as the Missouri State Ethanol and Renewable Fuels Commission.

Rep. Oetting serves as a member of the Health Facilities Review Committee and is chairman of the FUTURES Advisory Committee for Lafayette, Ray and Carroll counties. He was a member of the State Commission on Health Insurance during 1993.

A former sales manager for a dairy equipment company, Rep. Oetting currently owns and operates an independent insurance agency.

Rep. Oetting is a past board member of the Lafayette Regional Health Center in Lexington and the past executive secretary/treasurer for the Missouri Association of Fairs and Festivals. He also is a member of the Lions Club, Concordia Chamber of Commerce and St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

A 1969 graduate of St. Paul's Lutheran High School, Rep. Oetting attended Central Missouri State University.

Born March 19, 1951, in Concordia, Rep. Oetting resides in Concordia with his wife Carol. They have five children: Timothy, Jakolin, Olivia, Marshall and Micah.
