One of five original incorporators of the Guilford Battleground Association
Keogh was the last survivor of the crash of the Lady Elgin on Lake Michigan in 1860. Of the 317 people on board, 287 died in the accident.
Keogh moved out of NC in 1891, but his remains were interred in Greensboro.
