InfoMarc Dalton is a public school teacher who has taught both at the high school and elementary levels. Currently, he is a teacher-librarian. National unity is very important to him and he has led exchanges with Quebec schools. Marc has a Masters degree in Leadership (S.F.U.) and a Bachelors degree in French and History (S.F.U.). He speaks French, English and modest Spanish. He was raised in a Canadian military family and has lived across the nation. After graduating, Marc served in the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves, which has given him an appreciation for our armed forces and the need for a strong defense.

Marc first joined the Progressive Conservatives in 1984 and actively campaigned in Burnaby. Later he joined Reform and then the Canadian Alliance. He has held various executive positions. Most recently, he has been a local Conservative Party president. Marc believes in being involved in the democratic process. He has been a union delegate of the British Columbia Teachers Federation acting as a conservative voice.

For a number of years, Marc volunteered with a non-profit organization that focused on youth and reaching out to the needy in Canadian cities and in Mexico. Marc's concern for people is a strong motivation in his life. He was also a pastor at a community church in Burnaby.

Marc has been married 20 years to his wife, Marlene. They have three teenagers. He knows the commitment and sacrifice it takes to raise a family. Marc is Metis. His mother is French-Canadian and, on his father’s side, he traces his ancestry to the first fur traders in the West and the Cree.
