InfoJ.B. Van Hollen is a member of the law firm's litigation practice group, and is based in the Capital Square office in downtown Madison. Mr. Van Hollen's practice will also include environmental matters. Most recently, Mr. Van Hollen was the U.S. Attorney and top federal law enforcement officer for the Western District of Wisconsin.




Mr. Van Hollen stepped down from his role as the U.S. Attorney in January 2005, and then announced his candidacy for the office of Wisconsin Attorney General. The election will take place in November 2006.



Prior to serving as U.S. Attorney and top prosecutor for all federal cases in the 44-county Western District of Wisconsin, Mr. Van Hollen was district attorney for Bayfield County from 1999 to 2002, district attorney for Ashland County from 1993 to 1999, assistant U.S. attorney for the Western District from 1991 to 1993, and assistant public defender in Spooner from 1990 to 1991.
