| Info | General J. Gary Cooper, Chairman, Paymaster (Jamaica) Limited, has had a distinguished career in the US Marine Corps, government, private sector and the diplomatic service.
Highlights of his military career include the Bronze Star, two Purple Hearts, the Vietnamese Cross for Gallantry, the Distinguished Service Medal and the Legion of Merit.
He was elected to the Alabama House of Representatives in 1974 and served the Alabama Department of Human Resources. He served the 1989 Bush administration as Assistant Secretary of the Air Force and in 1994 was selected by President Clinton to be Ambassador to Jamaica.
He is presently the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Commonwealth National Bank and sits on the board of several Fortune 200 companies.
He also serves on the boards of General Corporation and Protective Life Corporation, Fortune 500 companies, as well as Spring Hill College and Talladega College.
